![]() ![]() So, you know, I'd really love a formal explanation on this matter. I pretty much just skimmed through the rest of this topic, but it looks like it's not really DRM-free. well, I would assume that Steam probably requires the client to be running to even launch this game in the first place, since even a majority of indie games require launching through the Steam client. Direct2Drive doesn't have the "DRM-free" lock symbol on it's respective page, and Steam. I didn't want to pre-order Heroes of Might and Magic VI (Might and Magic Heroes VI, whatever) outright, however, because I was (understandably) skeptical of whether Ubisoft would deliver on this promise.Īccording to GamersGate, the game has "Other DRM". I saw this topic on the day oldschool poster it, and being a fan of the series, I suddenly had an interest in actually paying attention to this games' release. If you don't like Ubisoft's policies, and don't like DRM, then avoid the game. So, following that logic, if I DON'T support 6 or Ubisoft maybe I can hold out false hope that they decide the property isn't a financially viable property and sell it off to someone who CAN get it right. I have 1-4 thanks to GOG and I play all of them pretty regularly, but I'm to the point where I'm satisfied with what I have and rather wouldn't support Ubisoft. On the other hand, I strongly dislike Ubisoft and I also strongly dislike that they got their hands on the HoMM property in the first place. On one hand, I love HoMM and even though I wasn't impressed with the expansions for HoMM4, or the HoMM5 game either, I'd still like to support it, so maybe they'll eventually get it right.
